Over 8,600 consumers gave up LPG subsidy in Assam



Over 20,000 consumers have responded so far in the North East to give up their LPG subsidy. Sources in the Indian Oil Corporation said that over 8,600 people have surrendered their subsidy in Assam alone following the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to do so.


Every consumer who gives up subsidy will help in providing LPG connection to a BPL family. Official data revealed that highest 1,300 consumers under Indian Oil Corporation have given up their subsidy in Kamrup Metro district in Assam. On the other hand, consumers in 15 districts have surrendered their LPG subsidy under Hindustan Petroleum. Hoardings and banners have been displayed at public places appealing more people to give up their LPG subsidy.
